MEET OUR PEOPLE

5 questions to Cathy Wang

Technical Sales Manager APAC

Describe a normal day at work with 3 words

Communication - Collaboration - Persistence. Every day involves communication with clients to explore applications for our wire solutions, working closely and collaborate with R&D team to drive growth.  And sometimes the situation is not always like what we wish, then persistence is key as we face challenges and continuously improve our products to meet customers highest requirements.

What are you most excited about the coming 6 months at work?

I am piloting GARBA 2205 for a new application – a project I’ve championed some time. The potential to diversify beyond automotive is thrilling.  Also, visiting key customers in Asia to deepen partnerships. Nothing beats face-to-face discussions to uncover new opportunities!  The new opportunities make me feel very excited. Hope this new wire application can be successful in the coming future.

What do you think your colleagues value most about you professionally?

I’d hope it’s my balanced perspective: technical knowledge and with commercial perspective. I love translating complex specs into customer benefits. And maybe my persistence—whether it’s troubleshooting or negotiating.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

I like to take leisurely walks in the park, just to enjoy the fresh air and clear my mind.  And meet up with friends for coffee or dinner, catching up on each other’s lives and sharing stories and moments.

What is most important for your work satisfaction?

Seeing real-world impact - whether it’s developing a wire grade that solves a customer’s challenge or expanding our footprint in emerging applications. With my knowledge and experience work in customer side, seeing our wires enhance the safety and efficiency of critical applications, brings a profound sense of fulfilment. It’s not just about achieving personal or company goals, but about being part of something larger that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible. And of course, a great team that shares the same passion!

Finally, the twist here is that every interviewee will get the opportunity to ask a question to the next person being featured. Cathys question is:

"If you could innovate without budget or technical constraints, what ‘impossible’ product would you create with our wire—and why?"

Stayed tuned until the next issue and see who gets the question!
